SCIENTISTS HAVE CRACKED PART OF THE BRAIN’S AGING CODE

Your brain’s protein-making system runs smoothly when young, matching mRNA “manuals” to finished proteins.

With age, that sync breaks, older cells pile up manuals while production lines stall.

In fish brains, scientists found the biggest slowdowns in positively charged proteins, the ones crucial for binding DNA, mRNA, and even building ribosomes.

Without them, the entire cellular upkeep system starts breaking down.

The discovery reveals a key mechanism behind aging and could point to ways to slow or prevent the brain’s decline.
